I Broke My Porsche GTS!! Porsche Active Dynamic Mount Fail!!

I posted a video up on my YouTube Channel GTSilver:

Short story is that I was returning home from a "spirited" drive and just prior to reaching my neighborhood a warning appeared in the instrument cluster:  "PADM Disabled.  Seek Service."  I was perplexed by this, as I hadn't felt any change in the handling of the car, any errant noises or otherwise any indication that there might be a problem....  PADM for those interested stands for "Porsche Active Dynamic Mount".  The Active Dynamic mount is an engine mount which is electrically charged at various settings / conditions and stiffens or softens automagically.  I explain more in the video.

So, I must have "broken" the mount somehow?  I'll check it out, then head to the dealer for (hopefully) warranty replacement....  I'll post an update afterwards.

Anyone else have to replace their PADM?

Thanks for visiting!

991.1 GTS Intro!

Hi All-

I've recently added a new video to my YouTube Channel.  I've recently purchased a slightly-used 2015 991.1 GTS coupe in base white.  My first video is a noob-y editing of drone footage and me talking about the car in the garage.  Please subscribe to my channel to receive notifications of the new videos I will be uploading, including some basic DIY material such as changing the filters, oil change, center lock wheels, and more!

If you like this video please hit the "Like" button!!!

Cheers,

Porsche Build Sheet Lookup Link

UPDATED VERSION!!!

The previous "Build Sheet Lookup" link stopped functioning a while back.  Boo.   I really liked the ability to print-up the "official" build sheet for any VIN.  This was an incredibly useful tool in the search for Porsche cars, and in looking-up what options a Porsche was originally equipped from the factory.

Each Porsche is issued a "Build Sheet" from PAG that can be referenced by dealers, and the prior link allowed you to locate and print the sheet for any car that you have a VIN#.  Not typically available to the public, but used extensively on the Rennlist 991 forum, in the "Hot For Sale" thread started by member STG.

Well, since that link (https://admin.porschedealer.com/reports/build_sheets/print.php?vin) no longer works we have to come up with some other way to investigate a suspicious car, or validate factory configuration, etc.

VIN Analytics is the new "lookup" tool that can help us all!  It is specific to Porsche, but armed with nothing more than a VIN # you can quickly find details on the factory build or configuration of any Porsche.  Here's a link:

https://vinanalytics.com/

Here's what the landing page of VIN Analytics looks like:

Enter any VIN and you will get the following:

And, if all you have is the last 5 digits of the VIN, you can enter that, hit return, and VIN Analytics will respond with a list of ALL porsche (regardless of model or year) that have the same last 5 digits!  Very cool!

Here's an example after I entered 5 digits:

You can then click on any of the VINs and see details.

There is even a nice Google Chrome browser extension that you can download and install.  With the extension installed in your Chrome browser, if you are on a web page that includes a VIN# for a Porsche you hit the "VA" button and it takes you to the VIN Analytics build sheet results for that vehicle.  Couldn't be easier!

Note that there is a link to a "full vehicle history report" on each page, which I am guessing is similar to CarFax or a competitor.  I have never tried it - of you or someone you know has, let me know what experience you had with it.

Hope this helps you out sometime, and please subscribe to keep updated on my blog and YouTube channels!
