DIY - 2014 Porsche 991 911 Front Bumper Cover Removal (Part 2)

(originally posted on 6speedonline.com 991 forum 9/6/2014)

Following is the second part of my Porsche 911 C4S front bumper cover removal project.  If you haven't already, you should review Part 1 of this project.  In this, Part 2, I've already removed all the connectors and hoses, cables, etc.  The bumper cover is ready for removal!

Simply start pulling the bumper assembly from the body... You pull straight away from the front of the car, and it does slide easily. I was surprised at how easy this was! No worries- it won't just fall to the ground or anything. To be safe I put a piece of carpet underneath...

And BOOM! You have your bumper removed!!!

I put it down gently on a piece of carpet. Some of you may want to "tape" and all that stuff. I was just careful. Also -- this is not a two-man job by any means. 4 hands wouldn't hurt, but if you don't have a friend available, you can do this yourself.  It is super-light and easy to hold steady from the center.

And for those interested in what is behind the center plastic plug on our 991 bumper covers (at least for those without the third radiator / x51 kit!):
